My Alma Mater did a piece on me, as part of the Research Issue of the Stevens Indicator Magazine. Incredibly lucky to have been featured w/ some of the great technologists of the decade and have my interests be shown in a candidly done story by Rebecca Markley and photograph captured by Chynna Destafano.
Writing with OncoBites
Hi.
This year I’d wanted to get involved in more writing projects that focused on catering to broader audience. I took a break from cancer research through my graduate work and now coming back to it, but if you met me.. I will always introduce myself as an immunologist with deep interest in cancer. Why? Because unlike non-self invaders like bacteria, fungi, viruses.. cancer is a self cell gone rogue. It doesn’t evolve into pieces of us, it IS a piece of us.
But, so much of this complexity is lost when information is not available to patients and civilians (those who are not life scientists). So, I joined OncoBites in hopes to practice writing complex and highly technical information and make it more accessible. So, here’s my first post. Please feel free to comment on the blog or here and tell me what you think and how I can improve!
